ALL-O-MATIC GATE OPENER REPAIR

All-O-Matic builds slide, swing and overhead gate operators in the USA, and the current PRO line runs on 24V DC brushless motors with integrated battery backup. That design matters when you need a repair: brushless motors have no brushes to wear out, so when an All-O-Matic stops working the fault is usually in the control board, the battery pack, the limit switches or the safety inputs rather than the motor itself. Diagnosing it correctly is the difference between a board swap and an unnecessary operator replacement.

We service the whole All-O-Matic range across Hayward, the East Bay and the Peninsula, from the SW-300 on a residential driveway to the SL-150 on a 60 ft commercial slide gate. Every model below is one we repair, maintain and bring back into UL 325 compliance. If you are not sure which unit you have, the model number is on the label inside the cover, and you can call us at 510-458-2048 and read it out.

ALL-O-MATIC SW-300 REPAIR

All-O-Matic SW-300 Repair - The SW-300 is the workhorse swing operator in the line and the one we see most often on Bay Area driveways. The SW-300 DC PRO carries gates up to 1,200 lb and 20 ft per leaf on a 24V DC brushless half horsepower motor, runs on 115/230 VAC or a 24V DC solar panel, and swings 90 degrees in an adjustable 17 to 25 seconds. It is UL 325 2018 compliant, continuous duty, and its two 7Ah 12V DC batteries give roughly 250 cycles through a power outage. The older SW-300 AC version handles about 800 lb at 20 ft and uses a mechanical torque limiter instead of electronic sensing.

Typical faults we fix: the gate stops halfway and reverses (obstruction sensing tripped by a dragging hinge or a failing battery), the operator runs but the arm does not move (sheared quick release or worn hub), or the unit is dead after a PG&E outage (battery pack past its service life).

  • Brushless motor and gearbox service
  • Battery pack replacement
  • Quick release arm repair
  • Limit and travel recalibration
  • Solar panel and charging diagnostics

ALL-O-MATIC SW-350 REPAIR

All-O-Matic SW-350 Repair - The SW-350 DC PRO is the heavy duty swing operator, rated for 2,000 lb with the half horsepower motor and 2,500 lb with the 1 HP version, on gates up to 22 ft. It shares the SW-300's 24V DC brushless platform, 115/230 VAC or solar input, 17 to 25 second travel per 90 degrees, UL 325 2018 compliance and the same 250 cycle battery backup. You will find these on wide ornamental estate gates and on commercial entrances where the leaf is heavy enough that a lighter operator would burn out.

The related SW-320, SW-325 and SW-375 DC PRO units use the same control platform, so diagnostics and most parts carry across the family. We also service the MACH-PRIME and TORO24 Prime swing operators.

ALL-O-MATIC SL-100 REPAIR

All-O-Matic SL-100 Repair - The SL-100 is All-O-Matic's core slide operator. The current SL-100 DC PRO and SL-100FP DC PRO handle gates up to 2,000 lb and 50 ft, move about 12 inches per second on a high torque 24V DC brushless motor, and accept 115/230 VAC or a 24V DC solar panel. The FP suffix means foot pedal release, which lets you free the gate by foot in an emergency instead of hunting for a key. Battery backup gives roughly 80 cycles on a 1,000 lb gate, and the pre-wired loop detector rack makes safety accessories straightforward. The discontinued SL-100 AC unit is rated around 1,000 lb and 37 ft, and we still repair and stock parts for it.

Slide gate calls usually come down to the chain, the rack, or the limits. A worn chain that jumps a sprocket, a bent rack tooth, or a magnet that has drifted out of position will all present as a gate that stops short or grinds. We fix the mechanical cause rather than turning up the force setting.

  • Chain, sprocket and rack service
  • Limit switch and magnet alignment
  • Control board diagnostics
  • Foot pedal release repair
  • Brushless motor testing
  • Battery backup replacement
  • Loop detector and photo eye setup
  • Roller and track correction

ALL-O-MATIC SL-150 REPAIR

All-O-Matic SL-150 Repair - The SL-150 DC PRO is the commercial slide operator, rated for 3,000 lb with the half horsepower motor and 4,000 lb with the 1 HP, on gates up to 60 ft. It runs 12 inches per second, is UL 325 2018 compliant, takes 115/230 VAC single phase or solar, and its integrated pack gives about 100 cycles on a 1,000 lb gate. These go on apartment complexes, storage facilities and industrial yards where the gate cycles all day, so worn chain and bearing wear show up long before anything electronic fails.

The SL-175 DC PRO sits above it for the heaviest installations, and the SL-45 and SL-90 DC PRO cover lighter residential slide gates. All of them share the same PRO control platform.

  • High cycle chain and bearing service
  • 1 HP motor and gearbox repair
  • Control board and DSP diagnostics
  • Preventive maintenance contracts
  • Loop and free exit troubleshooting
  • Battery and solar regulator service
  • Safety edge and photo eye compliance
  • Full system inspection

ALL-O-MATIC OH-200 REPAIR

All-O-Matic OH-200 Repair - The OH-200 is the overhead operator, used on sectional and rolling security gates rather than swing or slide leaves. The OH-200 DC PRO handles up to 800 lb and 22 ft, uses the same 24V DC brushless half horsepower motor, opens a 6.5 to 8 ft gate in about 20 seconds, and is UL 325 2018 compliant with a built in loop rack. Battery backup gives roughly 100 cycles on an 800 lb gate. It ships with an emergency lockable quick release and carries a five year commercial warranty. There is also an OH-200 AC version plus jamb track hardware.

Because this unit sits at the overlap between our garage door and gate work, we handle the door hardware as well as the operator: springs, drums, cables and tracks all affect how the OH-200 performs, and an operator straining against a badly balanced door will keep failing until the balance is fixed.

  • Overhead operator diagnostics
  • Spring balance and cable correction
  • Control board replacement
  • Quick release service
  • Track and drum alignment
  • Battery backup replacement
  • Safety reversal testing
  • Routine maintenance

ALL-O-MATIC BOARDS & PARTS

All-O-Matic Control Boards, Parts and Barrier Arms - Most All-O-Matic service calls end at the board, the battery or the safety inputs. We carry and replace PRO series control boards, 24V DC battery packs, limit magnets and switches, quick release hardware, chain and rack, receivers and remotes, photo eyes and safety edges. We also service the MAGNA Q barrier arm operator used at parking entrances and controlled lots.

One thing worth knowing about the PRO boards: they log the fault that stopped the gate. Reading that code first is faster and cheaper than swapping parts, and it often shows the real problem is a dragging hinge or a wet photo eye rather than the operator at all.

  • PRO series control boards
  • 24V DC battery packs and chargers
  • Receivers, remotes and keypads
  • MAGNA Q barrier arm service
  • Photo eyes and safety edges
  • Chain, rack and sprockets
  • Limit switches and magnets
  • Solar panels and regulators

All-O-Matic repair questions we get asked

My All-O-Matic opens but will not close. What is wrong?
Nine times out of ten this is a safety input, not the operator. UL 325 requires the gate to refuse to close when a photo eye or safety edge is blocked or faulty, so a misaligned eye, a spider web across the lens, or a water damaged edge will hold the gate open. The board will show the fault.

How long do the backup batteries last?
The two 7Ah 12V DC batteries in a PRO operator typically last three to five years in Bay Area conditions. When they fail the gate often works fine on mains power but dies during an outage, or starts moving slowly and tripping obstruction sensing.

Do you stock All-O-Matic parts?
Yes. Our Hayward warehouse carries PRO control boards, batteries, chain, rack, limit hardware, receivers, photo eyes and safety edges, so most repairs are finished on the first visit.

Is it worth repairing an older AC model?
Usually yes. The SL-100 AC and SW-350 AC are mechanically solid and parts are still available. We only recommend replacement when the gearbox or frame is worn past spec, and we will tell you the honest cost of each option before you decide.
